Most of the time, I use OD+ and have the taskbar hidden. Many of the newer themes have oversized start buttons that remain somewhat visible even when the taskbar is hidden. Is there any way to fix this without modifying the button in SkinStudio (since I still want the taskbar to work on those occasions that I prefer to have it visible). I know that I can set an alternate taskbar, but I'd rather not have to if there is a fix.

I've not been able to find a method yet, but I would be interested in finding a solution... Perhaps this is a WindowBlinds problem?

Ok, choose which skin you want, I tested this using Inspiration In Glass 2.

Now, since your using ObjectDock Plus, open OD properties > General Tab > Check the option to hide the Windows Taskbar > Click ok. Part of the start button should still be visible, this is where you need to reboot your system. After reboot, log in and the image of the start button should be gone.

I noticed you stated that you, on occasion, would like to use the taskbar. To do this, ignore the above and right-click the taskbar > Properties > check the auto-hide taskbar option. There will still be the image of the start button, again, reboot and log back in.

I have tested both ways and they both worked for me. Explain any further problems.

It didn't work for me. After a reboot, the image is gone at first, but it comes back before my system is all the way back up. I tried this with a few skins, with the same result. Any other ideas?

It comes back here as well...

Ok, I still can't reproduce your error. My image never re-appears. Here is what I did.

Loaded Inspiration Glass 2 > Right-clicked the TaskBar > Un-Checked the "Lock Taskbar option" > clicked Properties > Un-Checked the option to "Keep Taskbar on top of all Windows" > Clicked apply > Clicked ok.

Now that I have dealt with the Taskbar, I opened OD Properties > Checked the "Hide TaskBar" option > Clicked close. Part of the image is viewable, so I clicked Start > Reboot > logged back in.

I find it strange that both of you have this error and I don't, could one or both of you do as I described above to see if this works.

Maybe it's skin specific...what skins did both of you load?

It basically happens with any skin with the large start button. I'm currently using the Aura skin that comes with WB 5, tried following your suggestions, and still get the same thing. Unlocking the task bar did seem to make the little remnant smaller, but it still there. It is strange that you can't reproduce the problem--particularly since we both have ATI cards.

Yeah, I see what you mean now. I loaded Arura, Arrow, Kali, and VistaXP all of which I could not have the tiny image disappear. This just gets my synapses firing like crazy, cause I got the Inspiration Glass 2 to work fine, but not the others.

Sorry I couldn't help...

If you keep taskbar hidden most of the time so bar size does not matter try setting taskbar size too large, user overrides, in WB config.

I use large size task set in WB and have not seen a oversized button that goes off the top of the taskbar at large setting.

I have not tested this suggestion.

Kilo, thanks for trying. I've been trying for a long time too--I figured maybe someone else found a solution, and that maybe others want to get rid of that little image too.

Cavan, now I'm even closer--at least with Aura, there is now only a *very* small image left. Now it is almost unnoticable, but it's still there.
